Jiyeon - Jiyeon revealed a teaser image for her solo comeback - Kizi - K7x
T-ARA"s Jiyeon revealed a teaser image for her solo comeback.
Jiyeon had previously posted a picture of the number "7" printed on April 2, arousing curiosity about the meaning of the number from fans.
Core Contents Media stated: "7 represented the 7 days till D-day (D-7) of teaser release for her comeback before the teaser for her title song and MV. We will release Jiyeon"s teaser clip and image on the 8th".
In the revealed picture, Jiyeon wears a mint-colored hoodie, posing with a mischievous expression. Her sexy body was revealed in spite of her cute pose.
Jiyeon"s comeback teaser will be released through T-ARA"s official Facebook and Core Contents Media"s official Youtube channel on April 8.
Meanwhile, Jiyeon, as T-ARA"s first member to go solo, plans to collaborate with the best staff to produce her solo album.
I had my doubts about a Jiyeon solo debut ever since it was first announced. While Core Contents Media and T-ara have consistently made some of the better music to come out of K-Pop (which is only overshadowed by how consistently CCM trips over its own feet), Jiyeon has usually never stood out as a vocalist […]
Aside from having one of the most aggravating titles to type out, Jiyeon looks to be aiming for all the nosebleeds with her upcoming music video for “1 MIN 1SEC (Never Ever)”. Yup, still a much too convoluted title in English. Somehow, Hyosung has some competition: Hopefully, the slower, more deliberate beat is kept in place […]
JIYEON LOOKS LIKE SHE’S TAKING NO PRISONERS WITH NEW “1MIN 1SEC (NEVER EVER)” TEASER
In order to milk the hype for all it’s worth, Core Contents Media has also teased that there will be two more teasers for Jiyeon’s debut which means that there will be about 30 seconds of unreleased footage by the time that the actual MV drops. Only in K-Pop do entertainment labels frequently use press releases to pimp out trailers for music videos:
If maturity means more images like the one released with the press release then I’ve got to apply for an AARP card immediately. The next couple of weeks should be pretty good.
In the meantime, there’s still two (announced) teasers and all the inevitable promo stills to go as well as all the accompanying press releases that go with them. One wonders how CCM can keep its
madlibsstatements fresh with these announcements. There can only be so many ways to say “Jiyeon will pulverize your brain with her thighs”.
In what looks like some K-Pop mashup between Madonna’s “Vogue” and Kanye’s “All of the Lights”, T-ara’s Jiyeon’s video teaser for “1 Min 1 Sec” looks pretty damn good in between all the epilepsy the teaser is sure to cause.
It’s only fifteen seconds, so it’s hard to judge what the track will sound like yet. It’s also kind of hard to see what’s going on as the teaser could generously be described as a flip book moreso than it can be called a video teaser. Between this and the “Day by Day” video (which must have violated some statutes of the Geneva Conventions), one has to wonder if Core Contents Media has stock in seizure wards or something.
Of course, what can be seen in between all the schizophrenic editing is very nice and sexy (dat belly) but it also clashes with the teaser photo which looks like a creepy American Apparel ad for dancing shoes. WHICH IS IT CCM?
All of these pressing questions will be answered on April 30th, when it turns out that none of these teasers were close to accurate anyways.
T-ara member Jiyeon recently had a press conference for her solo debut at the Core Contents Media practice room on May 19. At the event, Jiyeon revealed that she had more musical freedom during the production of her solo debut album.
Jiyeon said, "I wanted a manly concept and the company president wanted a sexy concept. I think they took about 30% of my opinion into consideration." She also said that she prefers a concept similar to that of Kahi's, "She's the person who tried the concept I really want to do."As is typical of idol group members venturing into solo productions, Jiyeon was asked what makes her solo stage difference with that of T-ara's performances as a group. Jiyeon explained, "It'll seem different as soon as you see it. It's a different style from T-ara, so the performance in itself will be different. Make sure you watch the performance."
Jiyeon also expressed her thanks to female soloist IU, whom she mentioned was that friend that gave her the most support when she was preparing for her solo debut. Jiyeon shared, "IU gave me a lot of strength. She told me, 'It will feel very lonely and will be very hard for you to do this alone after promoting in a group.' She also advised, 'Don't do a sexy concept. Don't go too sexy.'"
Upon seeing Jiyeon's first solo music video "1MIN 1SEC" most of people's comments run along the lines of "sexy". However, Jiyeon has a different goal in mind. "I would like my solo promotions this time to not be the last. I don't know why I want to hear so badly that I look cool. Rather than hearing that I'm sexy, I want to hear that I'm a really cool woman."
Jiyeon dropped her "1MIN 1SEC" video on May 19, showing a darker and sexier concept. The song is produced by Duble Sidekick.
